Article Title:  IBM taking Moore's Law by the horns
Source:  ZDNet
URL:  http://www.zdnet.com/zdnn/stories/news/0,4586,26142...
Date:  11 Aug 2000
Editor's Summary:
New technology breakthroughs from IBM Research may further amend Moore's Law, the chip industry's most closely held measure of performance. Moore's Law originally said the number of transistors in a processor will double every 24 months but now has dropped to every 18 months in recent years. Big Blue's new chip transistor design, known as V-Groove in general production, would allow the company to stay ahead of Moore's Law 15 to 20 years in the future.
